Cheshire County Football Association

The Cheshire Football Association, also simply known as Cheshire FA, is the governing body of football in the county of Cheshire, England. They are responsible for the governance and development of football at all levels in the county.

Cheshire Football Association was founded in 1878 and is the governing body for all Football in Cheshire, and has since been responsible for the organisation and development of football within the County boundaries established in 1927. It is an association of member clubs and stakeholders who elect a Council to administer their affairs.
The key functions of The Cheshire County FA revolve around a Strategic frame work of 4 key goals and 2 enablers which are as follows:
*Goal 1 Growth and Retention
*Goal 2 Raising Standards
*Goal 3 Developing Better Players
*Goal 4 Running the Game
*Enabler 1 Workforce
*Enabler 2 Facilities
The key administrative functions of Cheshire FA revolves around the affiliation of clubs, competitions and leagues, registration of players, recruitment, coaching, referee development and administering discipline.
In 2000 the association became incorporated and seven Directors were appointed with responsibility for business and financial matters, leaving the traditionally elected Council, through a number of Standing Committees, to retain full responsibility for all football related activities.
On the 30th October 2003, Cheshire FA Headquarters & Football Development Centre was opened by the Chairman of The Football Association. A year later Cheshire FA Celebrated its 125th Anniversary and where presented with an address from the FA to record is appreciation of the outstanding services to the game rendered by the officers and members.
Following on from the European Learning Difficulties European Championships in 2008 Cheshire FA was formally recognised by the UEFA grassroots programme for the legacy work that was undertaken for and beyond the championships.
Currently, Cheshire FA employees a professional team of 20 staff and over the past 9 months we have completed a restructure to this team ensure that and enhanced level of customer service is provided to the volunteer workforce.
The organisation now boasts two distinctive departments. The Football Services Department managed by Garry Polkey works to support the affiliation of clubs, competitions and leagues, registration of players, recruitment, and administering discipline.
The Football Development Department managed by County Development Manager Alex Bedford has progressed rapidly over recent years looking at areas from the strategic framework such Coach Education, Child Protection, Charter Standard, Mini-Soccer, Girls and Women's Football, Disability Football, Volunteer Support and Education and coaching, recruitment and assessment of match officials.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About Cheshire FA )
